Aurora Garcia is an accomplished Real Estate Broker, entrepreneur, and dedicated community leader based in Edinburg, Texas. With more than 15 years of experience in the Texas real estate market, she is the Founder and Broker/Owner of Texas Star Realty, where she successfully leads a dynamic team of over 40 licensed agents. Under her strategic guidance, the brokerage has achieved sustained growth through innovative business development, comprehensive team training, and a steadfast commitment to client satisfaction. Specializing in both residential and commercial properties throughout the Rio Grande Valley, Aurora also owns and operates Golden Property Management, overseeing more than 125 residential units with full responsibility for leasing, tenant relations, maintenance, and financial reporting. A graduate of The University of Texas-Pan American (B.A. in English, 2006), Aurora holds a Texas Real Estate Broker License (2010), a Texas REALTOR® License (2006), and is a licensed Texas Notary Public. Throughout her two decades in the nonprofit sector, Daisy has overseen program development, strategic growth, fundraising, grant writing and community partnerships driving measurable outcomes for youth & families across the Rio Grande Valley. Under her leadership, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg Rio Grande Valley, Inc. continues to expand its reach and strengthen its mission to serve those who need us most. Known for her collaborative leadership, strong community relationships, and unwavering commitment to equity and opportunity, Daisy is recognized as a trusted voice in the youth-serving movement. Eduardo “Eddy” Villanueva is a seasoned court administration professional with over 20 years of dedicated service in the Hidalgo County, Texas justice system. Currently serving as Court Coordinator for County Court at Law #8, he excels in managing court operations, case flow, and stakeholder coordination while ensuring compliance with state laws and judicial directives. A nationally Certified Court Manager (National Center for State Courts, 2025), he previously held roles as Pre-Sentencing Investigator for the 275th District Court and Community Supervision Officer, contributing significantly to criminal justice procedures, rehabilitation programs, and risk assessments. Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Villanueva is an accomplished community leader. He has served on the Boys & Girls Club of Edinburg Rio Grande Valley Board since 2010, including as Board Chair in 2015 and 2025, earning the 2025 South Texas Boys & Girls Club Board Member of the Year award. He also serves on the Hidalgo County Community Corrections Improvement Foundation Board. A graduate of the University of Texas–Pan American (B.A. in Police Administration, minor in Psychology, 2004) and Leadership Edinburg Class #37, he remains committed to enhancing judicial efficiency, public service, and positive community outcomes.

A Certified Nonprofit Professional with a Master’s in Social Work, Erica has led initiatives that increased wish granting and referrals while fostering community partnerships and volunteer engagement. Rooted in values of hard work and compassion learned from her close-knit family, Erica continues to inspire through her commitment to service, education, and family, alongside her husband Alberto, their three children, and granddaughter Scarlet.

Abigail Rind – Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Abigail Rind is a first-generation college student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. As an intern in the Facilities and Construction Department at Edinburg CISD, she has rapidly established herself as a valued team member, applying strong analytical abilities and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to support projects throughout their full life cycle—from initial planning to final execution. In her role, Abigail has made significant contributions across multiple initiatives. She has prepared and maintained detailed project documentation, conducted thorough site inspections, and served as an effective liaison between internal departments and external contractors. These responsibilities have deepened her practical knowledge of construction logistics, facilities operations, and project coordination while highlighting her meticulous attention to detail and dedication to operational efficiency. Jorge E. Galvan is a dedicated South Texas real estate professional, entrepreneur, and community advocate with lifelong roots in the Rio Grande Valley. A proud Donna High School Class of 1998 graduate, Jorge earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Biology from the University of Texas–Pan American, establishing a strong foundation in leadership, discipline, and service. Jorge’s career began in education, where he served as a science teacher and baseball coach in La Joya ISD and Donna ISD. His years in the classroom and on the field strengthened his commitment to youth, teamwork, and community mentorship—qualities that continue to guide his work today. As an entrepreneur, Jorge founded and operated Gold Logistics LLC, a nationwide logistics company specializing in flatbed, step-deck, and oversized cargo transport. This experience sharpened his skills in operations, business development, and client relations, preparing him for the fast-paced world of real estate and development. Now a development-focused Realtor with Excellence Real Estate Advisors & Big Realty, Jorge represents commercial, residential, and land development clients across the Rio Grande Valley. Carolina Zuniga is an accomplished engineering and land surveying operations professional with over eight years of progressive leadership experience in South Texas civil engineering and surveying firms. Currently serving as Office Manager at Rio Delta Engineering in Edinburg, Texas, Carolina oversees comprehensive administrative, financial, human resources, and project-support functions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining efficient office operations. She acts as a primary client liaison, coordinates utility locates with public and private entities, and manages IT systems, document control, and proposal preparation. Previously, she held increasingly responsible roles at Melden & Hunt, Inc. and SAMES, Inc., including Survey Field Coordinator (leading teams of 20+), Survey Department Manager, and Survey Department Coordinator. In these positions, she directed field and office surveying operations, developed standard operating procedures, managed project scheduling and deliverables, administered contracts, and drove business development through proposal tracking and client relations. Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Diego is a proud product of Sharyland Pioneer High School. He started his collegiate journey at UTRGV where he competed as an athlete for the Division I Track & Field team. Diego later transferred and graduated Summa Cum Laude with his BBA in Finance and Management from Texas State University. He returned home to UTRGV to complete his MBA with a concentration in Financial Planning, while also obtaining his Texas real estate license to reinforce his commitment to understanding real estate, community development, and investment fundamentals. This journey has given Diego the experience that shaped his work ethic, resilience, and team-first mindset, qualities he carries into every leadership role today. Michael Cerda began his law enforcement career in 2005 with the Edinburg Police Department. He currently serves as Assistant Chief of Police, where he oversees the Operations Bureau as well as the SWAT Team and Hostage Negotiations Unit. Throughout his tenure, Chief Cerda has held progressively responsible positions, including Patrol Officer, K-9 Officer, Investigator, Patrol Sergeant, Criminal Investigations Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, and Training Coordinator. Within the SWAT discipline, he has served as Operator, Team Leader, and Team Commander. He holds the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Master Peace Officer Certification. Chief Cerda is an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Texas Police Chiefs Association, FBI National Academy Associates, and South Texas Police Chiefs Association. He is a former member of the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association and the National Tactical Officers Association. He is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, Session 291, for law enforcement executives in Quantico, Virginia. That session included participants from 47 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, 26 countries, seven military organizations, and seven federal civilian agencies. Chief Cerda is deeply committed to the professional development of law enforcement officers and the rigorous demands of the profession. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Lower Rio Grande Valley Developmental Council Police Academy.
